Vulcain – Aviator Dual-Time Trophy Watch

If this watch looks more than a little nautical to you, that’s no mirage. The watch is a mechanical celebration of the Swiss watchmaker’s sponsorship of the Vulcain Trophy 2012 regatta. Only 100 were made, making this a tough one to find. We are guessing that if you race yachts, however, you might know a guy who knows a guy. Might be worth contacting said “guy” as, along with being kinda handsome, this time-keeper displays a second time zone controlled by a screw-down crown. A blue rubber strap keeps it steady while the white water rushes over top of you during that final lap. It will also fare just fine underwater, should you go overboard.

Nike x Tom Sachs SPACE PROGRAM: Mars

Having viewed a teaser into the Nike x Tom Sachs space camp, the SPACE PROGRAM: Mars has finally been unveiled. The installation’s been created by Sachs and his thirteen strong studio team, and they wear the Tom Sachs NIKECraft collection to man the installation, regularly demonstrating the myriad procedures, rituals, and tasks of their mission in the SPACE PROGRAM: Mars. It’s a demonstration of all that is necessary for survival, scientific exploration, and colonization in extraterrestrial environs: from food delivery systems and entertainment to agriculture and human waste disposal.
The joint venture between Tom and the Nike design team fuses, in several significant ways, the design sensibility Sachs brings to space travel in this four week mission to Mars. It repurposes 55,000 square feet of the Wade Thompson Drill Hall at the Park Avenue Armory, New York with an installation of dynamic and meticulously crafted sculptures, which is open to the public at the Park Avenue Armory from now until June 17th. To add, the Tom Sachs NIKECraft collection will be sold alongside signature Sachs memorabilia within a pop installation adjoining the exhibition.

KENZO Kenzonique Video

The first campaign by fashion house KENZO under the creative direction of Carol Lim and Humberto Leon is a good fun affair, full of bright colors and flashing animation. The 80′s-inspired video highlights the couple’s artistic vision which is eccentric and charming – I think we can expect more exciting things to come from KENZO in the near future. Directed by Jo Ratcliffe and animated by Rob Ward and Suzanne Deakin, press play to view.
