adidas Consortium x Aloe Blacc – “Your Story” Decade Hi | Detailed Look

The adidas Consortium “Your Story” collection continues its way to select retailers and it is bringing along with it Aloe Blacc‘s take on the Decade Hi. We already previewed J. Thompson, Kate Moross, and DJ Muro‘s contributions, but the rapper/trendsetter from LA chose to go with the 1984 basketball classic drapped a premium ox blood-collored leather, which is reminicent of the African soil while the icy sole represents the barefeet of Ethiopian gold medalist and marathoner Abebe Bikila. The personal branding on the inside of the tan leather tongue and footbed finish off the look. These kicks are slated to land at select retailers on May 19th.

adidas Consortium “Your Story” Collection Video

With the globe turning its focus on the London 2012 Summer Olympic Games, we asked nine partners to take inspiration from their Olympic memories and translate them into designs for our new Consortium SS12 collection. We wiped the slate clean by giving them all-white models from the FW11 ‘Tabula Rasa’ range, which they’ve transformed into their own creative visions.
From Aloe Blacc’s transformation of the Decade Hi, to Sydney fashion designer Jim Thompson’s vintage track and field take on the Matchplay, Consortium SS12 is a diverse collection inspired by a range of creative backgrounds.

The red, white, and blue go for a summer run on the adidas adiZero Tempo 5. 3M hits and microsuede composition rest above shock absorbing adiPrene support for a safe and smooth ride. Designed for the runner between the six and nine minute mile mark, look for this men’s colorway to release with a women’s makeup this July.

The adidas Originals’ “Your Story” Collection that we have been previewing over the last couple of weeks is teeing up for their May 19 releases. We begin our a series of detailed looks with what DJ Muro’s describes as an “aggressive” version of the Pro Shell silhouette, with strong, deep colors, including dark green and black with pops of red accents on the tongue and heel. DJ Muro used a mix of suede and jersey material with engineered stripes reminiscent of the partial cut-off track top and a his skull and crossbones logo fitting of this shoe’s tough look. The look is topped off with a velcro strap and “Keep on Diggin’” laces. For those who wants to view the design in person, Muro’s kick will be available at select retailers beginning Saturday, May 19th.

[NEW RELEASE] ADIDAS ORIGINALS ADI-RISE

The last time we saw the adi-Rise, the high-reaching retro was made up for the Muppets movie, adorned in Animal style! This time around the sneaker is treated to a tonal Super Cyan upper with a subtle Trefoil on the heel.
