Damian Lillard x adidas Real Deal “Rookie of the Year”
Even though Portland missed out on the Playoffs this year, Damian Lillard was unanimously named “Rookie of the Year” for his efforts in an impressive and promising season. Accordingly, adidas has created a special edition “Rookie of the Year” version of the Real Deal sneaker for the young player. The silhouette, originally introduced in the 1990′s, is executed in colors commemorating each stop on Lillard’s ascent to success. The release, limited to 510 pairs, also features an ode to Lillard’s neighborhood in Oakland, his high school mascot, and other hidden features. Pick up this exclusive release at Portland’s Compound or Oakland’s Shoe Palace on May 23 for 0 USD. Damian will also make an appearance at Compound on the release date between 6:00 and 7:00 PST.

To commemorate this achievement, adidas is releasing the adidas Real Deal “Rookie of the Year” inspired by Lillard’s upcoming and hometown, this sneaker will release in very limited quantities. The “Rookie of the Year” Real Deal is decorated with red for Lillard’s high school, purple for Weber State, and black for the Portland Trail Blazers. The animal print on the sockliner represents the Wildcat mascot, which Lillard had in both high school and college. Also, the sneaker features “Townbiz” and “Fly Guyz” branding to represent Oakland and his close group of friends. The Real Deal “Rookie of the Year” will go on sale May 23, 2013 for 0 at Compound in Portland, Oregon, Shoe Palace in Oakland, and adidas.com.
