The Nike Air Max Sweep Thru, although not named with STAT anywhere, is Amare Stoudemire’s latest signature sneaker by Nike. Many sneakerheads have thought the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru resembles the Nike Zoom KD II, one of two sneakers that Amare preferred to play with on the court. Featuring a double strap system and silhouette very similar Nike Zoom KD II, the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru has received relatively good praise. The Nike Air Max Sweep Thru – New York Knicks Home PE is available now at Eastbay.com.

Last night a bunch of stars at the South Florida Classic debuted their newest sneakers to the world including LeBron James and his “Pre Heat/Cannon”. Next up, Amare Stoudemire debuted his signature sneaker, the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru in a Black/White colorway. Now it’s clear Amare will finally wear a sneaker designed for him by Nike this year. What are your first thoughts of the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru?
Several weeks ago, we showed first images of the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru – Amare Stoudemire PE. Over the past weekend, Amare Stoudemire was spotted posing on the carpet at the 2011 BET Hip-Hop Awards wearing a never before seen colorway of the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru. These first images show a combination of greys on the upper, tongue, front midsole and bottom strap, while orange accents are found throughout including the heel’s bottom air unit.
As reported before, this basketball sneaker resembles the Nike Zoom KD II’s design and looks to be Amare’s new favorite if and when he can get back on the court. Are you feeling this PE? Let us know what you think, and be sure to stay with Sneakerfiles for more info!
Back on the first of July, we showed very early images of the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru. Just now images of the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru – Amare Stoudemire PE have surfaced. Featuring the New York Knicks colorway in an Away edition, Amare Stoudemire’s PE will be draped in Blue, Orange, and White. At first glance, many will think the Nike Air Max Sweep Thru greatly resembles the Nike Zoom KD II. Ironically, Amare Stoudemire favored the Nike Zoom KD II during the 2009-2010 NBA season. The two straps and the dominant Blue base also resemble the Nike Zoom Huarache Trainer which Amare wore during the 2010-2011 season. It seems Nike hit the jackpot on providing a basketball sneaker Amare can take as his own.
