Back in Black: 7 Updated Air Jordan Colorways Inspired by the “Black Grape” 5s
Before the re-release of the “Grape” Jordan 5 even had a chance to turn into fine wine, Jordan Brand dropped a remixed version of the iconic sneaker in the form of the “Black Grapes”. Needless to say, the colorway was well-received, but left the door open for the possibility of other OG colorways of models in the Air Jordan line to get the blackout treatment. With that being said, we’ve done some creative exploring with a few predominantly white silhouettes that wouldn’t look bad dressed in black. Check out the series and cast your vote on which blacked out Air Jordan you’d like to be released.
Black “Cardinal” 7

Release a Jordan 7, and it’ll sell out. The same typically goes for Jordans released in a black and red colorway. Put the two together, and well, you know what to expect.
Harry Timson’s “Black | White” Video

Volcom rider and international surf sensation Harry Timson takes to the rolling waves of Indonesia for a new video part: “Black | White.” Filmed in – you guessed it – grayscale, the film finds Timson tackling some sizable water currents in the lake peaks of Sumbawa. Though originally from the landlocked Leicestershire, the Englishman shows off some serious sea legs while dominating indy grabs and sharp wave cuts. The clip was dazzlingly filmed by cinematic production company Light Colour Sound, who specializes in epic aquatic filmmaking. Enjoy the hard-hitting clip above.
A Modern Tape Dispenser from Black + Blum

London-based design duo Dan Black and Martin Blum of Black + Blum offer us another functional yet decorative item of utility. Known for their quirky yet simple designs of housewares, this time they present a one-kilo, cast iron tape dispenser that doesn’t look anything like those chunky (and rather boring) ones you find at Staples. It’s actually interesting and modern, and you get the convenience of being able to cut off a piece of scotch tape with one hand. Get it here for .50.

Alive & Well x Black Scale – BLVCK SEA Collection + Pop-up Shop | Seattle

Black Scale marks the opening of their Seattle Pop-up Store with a collaboration with Alive & Well dubbed the BLVCK SEA Collection. Ultimately, the set will include graphic tees, caps, and skate decks created to coincide with the Black Scale’s mix tape, but they’re kicking off the venture with a short video that gives a more detailed look into the pieces and the collaboration itself. With Seattle being one of the major players in developing the ’90′s grunge movement that pushed Nirvana’s Kurt Cobain to the spotlight, you’ll notice that the skateshop and the streetwear label give a strong nod to him and the Emerald City itself, donning images of the front-man and the classic M logo of the city’s baseball team, fully embodying the city’s spirit without plaid button-downs or JNCO’s. The collection will drop on June 15th in-store at Alive & Well and online via Black Scale and their new pop-up shop in Seattle.
