The N-1 boot was the official US Navy Boot during World War Two and known as teh “Boondocker”. The shape is so iconic it forms the basis for many boots in modern day. It is extremely are to find an original pair, but McCoy’s obviously did.
The Real McCoy’s have taken it upon themselves to recreate the boot to the exact specifications as the original, if not a little better. The distinctive sole is a rubber and cord sole, specially produced by McCoy’s. The graphics on the sole are a hand painted design that was cast into a mould.
The leather is cow hide suede which has been treated with dubbin by hand to offer water resistance.
Easily considered one of the world’s most dominant players around, Cristiano Ronaldo’s global visibility has made him an obvious choice to represent the best interests of his boot sponsor, Nike. In doing so, he brings to the table an all new collection of apparel and accessories molded after a summer-specific array of bright colors. Leading the pack is the marquee release in the form of the CR Mercurial Vapor IX boot. With notable shout-out to Nike’s previous signature Safari design on the Swoosh (originally seen in a holiday 2010 release of the Mercurial Vapor Superfly II), a bright neon colorway is balanced by a bottom half clad in white. The upper is comprised of All Conditions Control (ACC) technology that enables the wearer to enhance their touch regardless of weather conditions. A special “love to win, hate to lose” logo can be seen on the heel area. The new CR Mercurial Vapor IX boot alongside the rest of the CR7 collection will release starting April 11 via NikeStore.com.
As part of the UK designer’s Spring/Summer 2013 collection, Nigel Cabourn teams up with Converse to introduce the classic Bosey Boot, reworked with military-inspired design notes. Featuring a navy or army green colorway, the kicks hark back to the Second World War, when Converse supplied the military with rubberized footwear, outerwear and protective suits. Here, a rugged rubber sole unit and molded toe cap is combined with an L34 Ventile cloth upper equipped with vented antique brass eyelets, resulting in a durably built sneaker in keeping with Nigel Cabourn’s heritage aesthetic.
