Danner has given its classic Light Boot a refined makeover using premium Cordovan leather. The boots feature Cordovan shell uppers with tonal stitching and laces, and sturdy black Vibram soles underneath. Just 35 pairs have been made, and each pair comes in a special wooden box set with two pairs of socks, extra laces and a leather care kit. The 35 pairs will be available starting December 1 exclusively in through Danner Japan.
The OG Chicago craftsmen at Oak Street Bootmakers aren’t the type of menswear designers (Here’s looking at you, J. Crew) who boost classic military designs and then promptly forget about the underlying functionality that’s at the heart of combat-ready clothing.
Their Natural Rough-Out Dainite Trench Boot re-imagines the classic North African Marine Field Shoe into something cityscape-ready. By utilizing specially treated Horween leather designed to be used coarse-side-out, they leave the inner-boot smooth and unlined, so that desert sand can be easily removed and blisters avoided. So whether you’re on an actual life-threatening military mission or just fighting to get a drink at the bar, you’re covered.
6 will get you a pair here.

Recently, we highlighted the work of Brockton, MA’s Stacy Adams footwear line. From the swing era zoot suit gentlemen of the ’30s and ’40s, to modern day artists like Tom Waits and Snoop Dogg, Stacy Adams has been associated with American culture for more than 100 years. With this in mind, we took to the streets of New York City to share how we wear the Stacy AdamsAldrinboots in the wild.

The Stacy Adams Aldrin boot in suede grey is a very versatile chukka boot for the fall and winter months. The shade of the Aldrin shoe makes it easy to style for casual days out and about. We took a moment in the park to enjoy the changing of the leaves and share how we wore the Stacy Adams Aldrin. The chinos and blue jacket play well with the Aldrin; they would work just as well with a pair of jeans. The EVA soles on the Aldrin are comfortable and ride well with the day. No need to change out of the shoes for evening affairs a Stacy Adams ensures comfort in all their products.
Stacy Adams offers you, our readers, the chance to win a pair of shoes from their new collection. Simply browse their collection of shoes and leave a comment below telling us how you will wear them. “My grandfather wore Danner, my dad wore them, and I have been wearing my Danners for as long as I can remember. The quality is unmatched. I am proud to inject the Ball and Buck ethos to such an iconic brand” – Mark Bollman, Founder of Ball and Buck
Established on the basis of a “sporting gentleman,” retailer Ball and Buck pride itself of being a “bit out of the ordinary” among its contemporaries. More like a hunting lounge than a clothing store on Boston’s trendy Newbury Street, the store first came to everyone’s attention last year when it release the prized Ball and Buck x New Balance US574. This week, it is continuing that tradition with the Danner x Ball and Buck Boot.
A collaboration which resonated with Ball and Buck’s founder Mark Bollman, the boot is based on Danner Light, one of its most iconic model since the brand’s establishment in 1932. Made from waxed and oiled leather, the boot allows moisture and just enough heat to escape while keep out all of the elements, a design that actually functions better than Gore-Tex in some cases. Ball and Buck then added its signature camouflage in the form of a 10oz canvas to the boot’s side panels and blaze orange stitching. Etched branding, antique brass hardware, Vibram‘s Gumlite outsole, and a layer of Gore-Tex lamination help to better its functions on the hunting grounds across Massachusetts or the streets of Boston.
Completely handcrafted by artisans over at Danner’s factory in Portland, Oregon, the Danner x Ball and Buck Boot retails for 6 USD and is available now at its flagship store on Newbury Street. Meanwhile, see the step-by-step production process in the behind-the-scenes video after the jump.
