White Mountaineering x Moncler 2013 Fall/Winter “Moncler W” Lookbook
The White Mountaineering and Moncler imprint, “Moncler W” recently debuted its inaugural range on the runway after much anticipation. Today, Moncler and Japanese mainstay White Mountainerring have pulled the curtain on the comprehensive lookbook for the collection. The assortment of styles within the collection blends expected elements of both labels into a well-executed and streamlined assortment of cold weather garb. White Mountaineering’s tendency towards patterns and knitwear play a major role across various Moncler quilted down outerwear, all-weather pants as well as a plethora of accessories and gloves. Following on the heels of other Moncler co-projects with the likes of visvim, sacai and Christopher Raeburn, the Moncler W range under the direction of White Mountaineering’s Yosuke Aizawa continues the series of successful ties forged between the French luxury label and other design peers in the industry.
Givenchy 2013 Fall/Winter Campaign Preview
Givenchy and designer Riccardo Tisci offer up a brief glimpse of the French luxury label’s Fall/Winter 2013 campaign ahead of its debut later this year. Shot in stark black and white, the campaign was photographed by duo Mert & Marcus with styling by none other than former Vogue Paris editor-in-chief Carine Roitfeld. While the menswear photography highlighted here features modeling from the likes of Spanish actor Quim Gutiérrez, the brand’s campaign is also set to include Roitfeld’s daughter Julia as well as current Givenchy muse Amanda Seyfried – who also happens to be the face of its Very Irresistible line of perfume. Expect the campaign to roll out in full with the debut of the brand’s fall fashions in a number of upcoming publications around the world.
PHENOMENON 2013 Fall/Winter Collection
Japanese brand PHENOMENON offers a look at its Fall/Winter 2013 collection through a set of tasteful pairings. Bold red, navy, and black are the tonal focal points, yet the true strength of the range lies in its strong color-blocked patterns and differentiated fits. Accordingly, triangular shapes create eye-catching cuts within a clean, yellow sweater, while houndstooth and red tartan mesh on the same slim-cut bomber. Bright woolen interpretations of motorcycle jackets, cable knit sweaters, and washed denim trousers are also uniquely placed within this collection, making for a wholly unique offering from the Japanese label. Look for PHENOMENON’s Fall/Winter 2013 collection at retailers in the coming months.
Loewe x COMME des GARCONS JUNYA WATANABE MAN 2013 Fall/Winter Lookbook
Drawing inspiration from punk rock, motorcycle culture, and perhaps even Labyrinth, Spanish legacy brand Loewe teams up with COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE in a collaborative range for Fall/Winter 2013. Here we find both brands contributing their signature edge; where COMME des GARÇONS JUNYA WATANABE contributes its sense of patchwork pairings and slim silhouettes, Loewe brings its mastery of premium leather goods to the range. The resulting set of jackets, shirts, selvedge denim and accessories was premiered in Tokyo at the Spanish Embassy, perhaps an even greater symbol of the fusion between the two different companies. The goods are set for a September release.
Levi’s Vintage Clothing – Fall/Winter 2013 Collection Lookbook
Levi’s Vintage Clothing has unveiled the lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2013 collection, featuring looks that hark back to early ’60s Detroit and the dawn of of Motown. Outerwear is highlighted by a fringed suede jacket and weathered leather coat with fur-trimmed collar, layered over checkerboard shirts and wool polos. Jeans come in thoroughly distressed washes, while khakis and retro plum cords are cut in the trim-fitting silhouettes of that era. The soulful Motown looks eventually give way to a distinct Flower Power sensibility, centered around the return of the Levi’s Orange Tab. The denim from the range is stone-washed and flared, worn with ringer tees and washed crewnecks to evoke a simpler time, when basements were faux wood paneled and music was played on eight-tracks. Finally, the 21brand’s core repro segment features aged leather outerwear and the expected selection of Cone Mills-produced 501s.

Japanese label EOTOTO quickly positioned itself as an innovative brand with a focus on the worldly textiles and experimental fits. The approach always seems to come out neatly executed, evidenced by the brand’s latest lookbook for its Fall/Winter 2013 collection. Here we see EOTOTO drawing inspiration from the culturally rich foothills of Central Asia, offering a range of turtleneck sweaters, cropped trousers, woven jackets, and other accessories for the new season.
