It’s fair to say Nike brought the business this year for Black History Month. The Nike SB, Nike Basketball, Nike Sportswear and Jordan franchises all dropped commemorative kicks, but the extra premium goods have been saved for last. This new Jumpman23 custom pack by Just Don takes deluxe to another plane, with legit python snakeskin slathering the Swoosh and heel strap of the immortal first Jordan silhouette and the bill of a Jordan snapback. The AJ1 is also decked out in nubuck and features a swag of dainty details to put under the microscope, including the African print we’ve seen in the other Nike BHM releases. This is a limited edition custom job, with just 37 pairs available in varying sizes. The online auction, which benefits the Big Brothers Big Sisters charity, can be found here.

Although Carmelo Anthony only spent one year at Syracuse University before heading off to the NBA in 2003, he certainly made an impact during his stay with the Orangemen as he helped lead the team to their one and only NCAA Championship title, amongst other honors he’d achieved in a single season.
During halftime of yesterday’s Syracuse vs. Georgetown game, Anthony had his jersey #15 retired amongst the thousands in attendance who applauded his efforts. In addition to the brief ceremony, several Syracuse players were spotted in a special edition Jordan Melo M9 “Syracuse” colorway. The signature kicks take on a vibrant metallic orange and white color make up with a patent leather toe box, navy accents throughout, and white signature branding for a clean finish.

As Jordan Brand continues to amaze the sneaker world with several unexpected releases and new colorways to some of our favorite Air Jordan models, today brings new images of a Air Jordan XVI (16) “Cherrywood” sample that appears nearly identical to its OG predecessor.
What hasn’t been seen on the shelves since 2001 when it first debuted, the “Cherrywood” has according to true Jordan fans always stood as one of the more popular Air Jordan VI (16) colorways. Featuring a detachable dark grey shroud and cherrywood accents throughout, this model comes complete with white tumbled leather uppers and classic signature branding that brings us back to the early 2000′s. Could we infact be seeing a 2013 retro of the Air Jordan XVI (16) “Cherrywood”?
In most cases, we’re past due for a retro like this; we’ll all just have to wait and see what becomes of today’s news! Keep it locked right here at Sneaker Files for more developing news on this possible 2013 release.
