Air Jordan I (1) Mid “Black/Gym Red/Anthracite”: First Look

2013 has brought us several Air Jordan I (1) Retros in several different styles; we’ve had several Air Jordan 1 Mid models (like the “True Blue” Jordan 1 Mid, set to release later this year), Air Jordan 1 Lows (even ones with straps, like the upcoming versions seen here), and my personal favorites, the Air Jordan 1 “OG” versions (“Royal” OG 1s, anyone?), featuring the classic “Nike Air” branding on the shoes and the packaging, giving them that old school, original flavor (word to Jaz-O). Deciding to strike while the iron’s hot, Jordan Brand brings us another Air Jordan I (1) Retro in the form of the Air Jordan I (1) Mid “Black/Gym Red-Anthracite”.
Featuring a black leather upper with gym red and anthracite accents upon a white midsole and black outsole, this iteration definitely has that classic “Chicago Bulls” vibe to it, which fans of the Air Jordan brand have come to know and love. With all the dope Jordan Brand releases set to drop in the coming months, one wonders if these will slip through the cracks, much like the recent Jordan 1 Mids that dropped to little fanfare last month; only time will tell. A very clean and simple colorway (as the best often are), this shoe looks to release in July.
Will you be grabbing a pair of these Bulls-inspired 1s, or will these be a “Scottie-to-MJ no-look” pass for you? Let us know in the comments below!

A Look Back at the Air Jordan Flight Club

How would you like to be the proud owner of some autographed Michael Jordan memorabilia? While obtaining MJ’s signature today would cost you a pretty penny, it was a bit easier a couple of decades back – all you had to do was join Nike’s Air Jordan Flight Club. Offered back in the late ’80s and early ’90s prior to His Airness’ six NBA titles and certified status as the G.O.A.T., membership to the AJFC meant biannual newsletters, a members-only graphic tee, membership card, poster, and an autographed photo of MJ himself – seen here in 1989′s OG classic “Fire Red” Air Jordan 4 - as well as a number of additional exclusives. Enjoy a retrospective look at the vintage “Welcome Pack” from the Air Jordan Flight Club and feel free to wax nostalgic below.

Before they release again on Friday, May 24, Nice Kicks gives you an on-foot look, and discusses the elements that made the Reebok Answer I an iconic sneaker in the latest installment of Live Look.

A Closer Look at the Xbox One

Following yesterday’s grand unveiling comes a closer look at Microsoft’s upcoming Xbox One – the highly-anticipated follow-up to the Xbox 360. “Designed from the ground up to be the centerpiece of every living room,” the new console is dominated by a sleek black exterior of sharp lines, corresponding controllers, and a matching Kinect system – now featuring an expanded field of view, tweaked gesture-recognition, and voice-recognition technology that even allows you to boot up the system by simply saying “Xbox on.” Inside, the Xbox One boasts an 8-core x86 processor, 8GB of RAM, a 500GB hard drive, Blu-ray functionality, and HDMI pass-thru while the controller itself now features more than 40 improvements that include “Impulse Triggers” (pressure-sensitivity), streamlined thumbsticks, and contours to the buttons and D-pad. What will likely set the Xbox One apart from the next-gen pack, however, is its user experience. Sporting a new Windows OS, the Xbox One features an easy-to-use interface that includes Skype, cloud capabilities, and a Smartglass feature that allows users to turn mobile devices into a second screen for a more immersive interaction. Finally, Xbox Live will introduce “Smart Match”, a revolutionary matchmaking system that will pair players based on advanced algorithms using language, skill, and reputation. Head on over to Microsoft’s comprehensive Xbox One hub for an in-depth look at the next-generation console, as well as the latest news in the world of Xbox, and stay tuned for concrete details regarding price point and release.
