CLOT – Spring/Summer 2013 Marine Military Collection
Last month, CLOT introduced their Marine Life collection, which brought us a line of apparel with a heavy influence from life out on the open seas, where days are spent out on high-priced yachts soaking up the sun. Comprised of graphic tees, knits, pants, and jackets, the relaxed first collection is followed-up with this Military series, which includes a similar range of apparel, but with a patchwork reminiscent of military badges, accessories like scarves used in desert warfare, and colorways more commonly seen in those used by fighting forces’ uniforms. An animal theme also presents itself with a touch of camo in the jacket and cap and the appearance of a tiger, shark, and polar bear as accent graphics. Carhartt WIP – Military Watch
With the popularity of the previous Military Watch, Carhartt WIP went back to the drawing board to design this season’s timepiece. Aesthetically, the polished casing and nylon NATO strap offers the distinct military watch style, yet it is in the details that gives this watch its unique charm. Carhartt WIP logo is printed on a black face, accented by orange and white dials. Engraved on the back of the casing is an original graphic, representing the history of the Carhartt brand. New Balance drew inspiration from the military for the soon to be released “Military Camo” Pack consisting of the iconic 574 silhouette. The two pairs that make up the pack both use earth-tone colors. A very subtle touch is added to the ML574 with the addition of the camouflage inner lining.

URSUS BAPE 2013 Spring/Summer URSUS MILITARY BOOTS
URSUS BAPE drops a pair of Military Boots for spring/summer 2013. Available in black or dark brown, the boot features a simple leather upper with a sloped ankle closure and is composed of three overlaid panels including a toe cap with a perforated edge. Cutting out the fluff, the boot is simply accented by contrasting silver-colored hardware (or copper-colored for the brown upper) and branded label on the tongue.

Rick Owens produces a rather curious melding of styles with his Black Monk Strap Military Dunk Boots. Part military boot and part high top sneaker, the pair features a buffed black leather upper that is half shrouded by a large flap that fastens securely at the side with a monk closure. The strength of the military boot is preserved with the height, silver studs and angular overlays used, but is balanced out by casual elements of the sneaker including a large rounded toe and thick white rubber outsole.
