The Grand Olympic by Theo Ehret Exhibition Highlights Some of Boxing & Wrestling’s Greatest Moments

The historic Kim Sing Theatre in downtown Los Angeles is set to host The Grand Olympic: The Photography of Theo Ehret, an exhibition of Theo Ehret‘s boxing and wrestling photography. Sadly, Ehret passed away this summer but the photographer’s storied career saw him serve 20 years as the staff photographer at the Grand Olympic Auditorium. Working from there the 1960′s to the 80′s Ehret was witness to fights involving Muhammad Ali, Andre the Giant, Sonny Liston and Mill Mascaras just to name a few. Ehret’s black and white images manage to capture both the spectacle of the events and the larger-than-life characters involved and serve as an important document of the social fabric of the Los Angeles from that time period. Sponsored by Geneva Sound Systems and 722 Figueroa, the exhibition will open on November 15 and run until the 30th.
