Berlin’s Magma Architecture were tapped to design the shooting range for the London 2012 Olympic Games, which will host the 10, 25, and 50 meter events. Titled “Olympic Shooting Venue,” (surprisingly), the venue is located in London’s Woolworth distirct and is made up of three mobile tents, themselves made of a double layer PVC membrane, supported by steel trusses and featuring circular protrusions throughout. The “nodes” act as ventilation points for the structures, as well as points of entry and exit for spectators. the tents will also be home to the Paralympics in September. (HB)

Shortly after the German car manufacturer unveiled its 2013 Mercedes-Benz CLS Shooting Brake, news of a high-performance version of the car was leaked on the internet. The company says of the Mercedes-Benz CLS63 AMG Shooting Brake, “In essence it represents an unprecedented version of a sports car with five seats and a large tailgate.” Powered by a 5.5 liter twin-turbocharged V8 engine, the car channels 525 horsepower and 516 pound-feet of torque through its rear wheels. An optional Performance Package increases output to 550 horsepower and 590 pound-feet of torque. Mated to an AMG Speedshift MCT seven-speed sport transmission, the car should make 0-60 mph runs in the low 4.0-second bracket and achieve a limited top speed of 155 mph.

Back in February we brought you coverage of NBA All-Star Weekend 2012, several coveted sneaker releases surrounding the event like the “Galaxy” Foamposite One, and the debut of the Nike Air Foamposite One “Shooting Stars” PE.
Originally worn by Penny Hardaway during the second half of the NBA All-Star Celebrity Game, we’ve come across a sample version of the PE that has landed on eBay. This particular pair that’s up for grabs comes in a size 12 and features all of the same characteristics as previously mentioned including an Orlando Magic inspired colorway and its unique star patterned upper, plus a pair of limited edition Nike Elite socks that were only made available to NBA players and personnel.

We could be off by a mile, but we doubt that many men interested in blue cotton cordlane are also interested in firearms. Even if we are right, that does not mean you should pass on a statement piece like this shooting jacket from Engineered Garments. We dig the light contrast between the airy blue cotton and the tan pocket accents and shoulder guard. Those pockets look thirsty for shotgun shells, but we could just as easily load them up with pretzel rods and cheese sticks.
Side note: cordlane should not be confused with Coeur d’Alene, a lovely lakeside township in Idaho that would actually be a good place to give this jacket a proper workout. Mohawk has it.

Engineered Garments, have introduced a great piece for the spring/summer 2012 season with this well interpreted oxford shooting jacket. Daiki Suzuki adds his critique primarily through the balance of materials with an oxford cloth body accented by faux suede patches, while detailing runs down to the single button cuff and detachable throat tab, all in all making for a great pick up for spring.
