Another look at the Barbour for Norton & Sons collaboration for the Beacon Heritage collection. Having already covered their countryside friendly outerwear and knits, time for some smart accessories. Everything inspired by “the artisan look and feel of the workwear worn by traditional fishing and working communities along the Northumbrian coast,” the two bags, a tote and holdall, may not suit a day on the farm thanks to the ivory cotton twill, however they do make a nice change from the usual tones found on these styles. Black leather trim, metal press studs and buckles and all the pockets you could ever need, find them both here.

United Arrows & Sons director, Motofumi “Poggy” Kogi, decided to create a line of garments that can be worn at the beach or to a party, or possibly both. This new project with 55DSL almost looks out of place for Fall release. However, the versatility of these pieces is evident by the timeless designs. Inspired from vintage scarves, the key ingredient of this collaboration is the original printed fabric, which is used across the board as a feature or detail. The collection consists of hooded jacket, jersey blazer and pants, button down shirts, t-shirts, and jersey shorts. All of the styles seen here is available at both United Arrows & Sons stores and 55DSL stores in Japan.

This chunky cardigan by Ovadia & Sons was hand-knitted in Canada from pure wool. The shawl collar and horn toggles give the thick sweater an even cozier feeling. A fun skier design on the back for that festive holiday spirit. Available now at MR PORTER for 5.

British brand Hardy Amies, responsible for the the ABC of Men’s Fashion series and the Stanley Kubrick & Hardy Amies short, introduce Neighbourhood Portraits. This video series explores areas around London with a rich and vibrant culture that have had an impact on the modern landscape. To kick off the series the team meet up with Mikey Sorbello, a barista and roaster at Climpson & Sons in Hackney, East London. The coffee shop was founded in 2005 by Ian Burgess and has played a large role in kicking off the latest run of coffee vendors across London. Within the short Mikey explains his love for coffee and where it stemmed from. “I think everybody here on Broadway Market has something, or the determination to do something…and that helps you to achieve your own goals.” Head over here for more information about the project and the area. Press play.

When Ian Fleming, the creator of the infamous 007 James Bond character, was in search of an appropriate name for his legendary British Secret Service Agent, he said he wanted the “simplest, dullest, plainest-sounding name” he could find. Yes, Bond would be a neutral figure, but “exotic things would happen to and around him.”
In creating the Ovadia & Sons Spring/Summer 2014 Menswear Collection, twin brothers Shimon and Ariel Ovadia have taken the same concept and translated it sartorially with each look of the upcoming season by cloaking its models with a radiant amount of pomp and circumstance that would make any detective look like a boss. Outfits are comprised of three-piece suits in colors such as deep purple, navy blue, and stark black. The result: male silhouettes along the upper body benefit from fitted tailoring while boxy cuts have been employed more around the waist. in terms of lightheartedness, Hawaiian-print tops in black and white play on an exotic environment’s whimsicalness, and preppy biker jackets have been fashioned out of suede leather in hues of camel brown and electric green. The aura of the pinstriped-clad model towards the end pretty much says it all in the lookbook: adventures come to those that bide their time. And while you never know when that adventure will occur, it doesn’t hurt to look good just in case.

Ovadia & Sons‘ Spring/Summer 2014 collection adds more youth and edge than we’ve seen from the brand before — and they’ve succeeded. Neoprene motorcycle jackets and reflective anoraks were surprisingly put together with impeccably tailored suiting that we are so used to seeing from them. Intentionally paint-splattered pants, bright blue crochet knits and unfinished hemlines added even more youthful twists. A breath of fresh air blown into classic men’s suiting.
