Hennessey – Venom GT Sets New World Top Speed Record | Video
It seems the world supremacy in the automotive industry is heating up. We posted about Weber Faster One, who claimed to take the title of the world’s fastest street-legal car from Bugatti Veyron Super Sport. Now, Hennessey Venom GT has recorded the world fastest top speed record for street-legal car. The American muscle car weighs only 1,244kg, and boasts an impressive 1,244 horsepower and 1,155 lb-ft of torque, an incredible 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. This beast reached 265.7 mph over two miles, beating the 258 mph of Bugatti, which has speed-limiter on its production cars. Check out the proof in the video below, and let us see if Bugatti will up the ante to reclaim both titles.

2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible
Leaked photos of the 2013 Bentley Continental GT Speed Convertible have hit the Web ahead of its official debut at next month’s Detroit Auto Show. Details are scarce, but it’s expected the vehicle will feature essentially the same specs as its hard-top cousin’s. That means power will come from a 6.0-liter W-12 engine mated to an eight-speed transmission, driving all four wheels and producing 616 horsepower and 590 lb-ft of torque. Bentley estimates a consequent 0-to-60 sprint time of just 4.0 seconds, with a top speed rated at least 200 mph. Sure it’s fast, but that purple paint job ensures you won’t miss it zooming by.
