Pacific Rim – Official Trailer Video
Warner Bros. has unveiled the new trailer for Guillermo Del Toro’s highly anticipated Pacific Rim, and the two-and-a-half minute clip is bursting with all the elements we want from a summer blockbuster: giant robots, invading monsters and explosions galore. Throw in a sweeping score and an inspirational speech capped off with the rallying cry “Today we are canceling the apocalypse!” and you have what promises to be the year’s ultimate popcorn flick. Through the trailer’s voiceover, we learn that earth is invaded by creatures from “deep beneath the Pacific,” and in order to fight the monsters, “we created monsters of our own.” Enter the battling bots — known as Jaegers — manned by an elite team of pilots played by Charlie Hunnam and Idris Elba. Check out the trailer below, and look for Pacific Rim to hit theaters July 12th.
