Air Jordan Retro VIII – “Phoenix Suns”

In addition to last month’s hare-raising pair and the upcoming “Playoffs” edition, Jordan Brand is set to release a Phoenix Suns-inspired colorway of the iconic Air Jordan VIII. The impetus behind the grey, blue and orange accent colors presumably originates from events 20 years in the past — namely, the 1993 NBA championship series between the Chicago Bulls and Phoenix Suns. While the Suns won 62 games during the regular season — good enough to earn Charles Barkley’s one and only league MVP trophy — his team would ultimately succumb to the Bulls in six games, securing the three-peat for Chicago. It’s a feat memorialized in this new retro-plus colorway of the Jordan VIII, executed with a black nubuck upper and featuring the signature chenille Jumpman patch on the tongue. Check out detailed looks below, and stay tuned for release details on this highly anticipated release.
