Kim Kardashian Teases Air Yeezy 2 Red On Instagram Yeezy Rocks Them On SNL

After hearing rumors and seeing random pics of the Air Yeezy 2 “Red” float around within the past couple of months, the shoe suddenly was pushed into public’s consciousness by Mr. and Mrs. Yeezy, with a Tweet by Kanye West’s lady starting off the madness, followed by Kanye himself wearing the “Red” Yeezy 2 during his SNL performance. Is this a sign of things to come?

Kim Kardashian, Kanye West’s baby momma, sent out a Tweet last night which might be the first concrete sign of the shoe actually releasing. The tweet, showing a copy of Yeezy’s new album “Yeezus” and the bottom half of the Air Yeezy 2 “Red”, takes things to a new level, as it’s the first time anyone in West’s camp has mentioned the shoe by name. Featuring the hashtag “#RedYeezys”, the Tweet was the first real indication that this shoe might release. Little did we know that an hour later, we’d actually see the man himself rocking them onstage, for millions to see on their TV screens.

During his first of 2 performances on SNL that evening, Yeezy could be seen wearing the Air Yeezy 2 “Red” on stage. While it was hard to see much of anything on stage, due to the dark lighting, a red flash here and there could be seen during some of Kanye’s more vigorous movements, red shoes cutting through a beam of light, with every high-kick and wild movement.

Nike Air Yeezy 2 Red/Red Preview

Rumors have been rampant of a third Nike Air Yeezy 2 colorway before the first two makeups even dropped. Kanye West and his camp have added fuel to the fire with Instagram shots and an on-foot sighting of an all-red colorway. As you may recall, this shoe was seen for the first time last month. The color blocking is in line with the popular Louis Vuitton Don makeup, with glow-in-the-dark sole absent on this Yeezy 2 take. Would you cop this colorway if released? For those of you who missed out on the Nike Air Max 1 FB “Fresh Mint/Pink Flash” aka “Yeezy”, all hope is not lost; Sneaker Politics, a brick-and-mortar shop out of the N.O., will be restocking these highly sought-after shoes at random times between now and Wednesday at all of their locations. For those of you not in the Lafayette area, fret not; they will be accepting phone orders!

Part of the Nike Air Max “FB” pack, the Air Max 1 FB utilizes the same fresh mint/pink flash motif that several shoes in the FC247 collection also make use of. For those that don’t remember (or simply missed it), the FC247 collection was a futbol-centric (hence the “FB”) pack of performance-driven shoes, each shoe meant to respond best to a specific surface; the shoes of the FC247 collection are, after all, “…designed for fooball anytime, any place”, according to Nikeinc.com. The Air Max 1 FB, with its light-yet-striking colorway, makes for a perfect warm-weather shoe. Whether you’re a “Yeezy”-obsessed fan or just someone in need of a dope pair of kicks for the summer, these shoes are worth a second look.

This release is in-store/phone order only, so don’t count on being able to grab these at their online store. Be sure to follow them on Twitter at @sneakerpolitics for all release info. They’ll be dropping 50 pairs a day, so you should have a shot at grabbing a pair, as long as you stay diligent and are on your A-game. Retail is 0.

Looks like we have a double custom treat to share with all you sneakerheads from sneaker customizer SneakerGeekzx.

First up is a look at the “Cookies And Cream” Air Jordan XII’s. Using a black base, this custom snack sports some appetizing vanilla accents along with some dripping vanilla detailing on the patent leather.

For the second custom offering, we’d like to present you with the “Yeezy Taught Me” Air Jordan 1′s. Also opting to go with a black base, SneakerGeekzx injects a dope touch of pink paint splatter on the swoosh as well as midsole. And to put the cherry on top of this Yeezy-inspired pair of 1′s, both the swoosh and the sole glow in the dark.

Air Jordan IV – Yeezy 2-Inspired “4eezy” Customs

Air Jordan IV Yeezy 2 Inspired 4eezy Customs

Many have tried but few succeeded in their quests to recreate the Nike Air Yeezy 2 silhouette on other Nike designs. Believe it or not one of crucial hurdles a customizer has to overcome is color since there aren’t that many other Nike editions with Black, Solar Red, and neon green combo. But it look like jlin1314 found some way (or someone) to circumvent that problem. With the all-black Air Jordan IV Retro “Bred” as his base, he only needed a quick touch-up to blacken the few areas left. Next, some trace work to replicate the Horus emblem in the place of Jumpman logo on the tongue and another quick paintwork for the neon green outsole. As for the Solar Red interior, we’re still trying to figure that one out…

Nike LeBron X “Kobe Cheetah Sample” Yeezy 2 Inspired Custom

Remember those photos last year of the “Cheetah” Nike Air Yeezy 2 supposedly made for Kobe Bryant? Well, we do, and so does GourmetKickz, as evidenced by his latest creation, the Nike LeBron X “Kobe Cheetah Sample” Yeezy Inspired Custom. The custom LeBron X features a purple upper with red laces and lining to bring out the Cheetah-inspired motif. Gourmet then adds finishing touches with a glow in the dark outsole and lace locks. This pair is part four in the series of six, so stay tuned for the last two creations of this Homme project from GourmetKickz.

Nate Robinson is apparently as serious about his sneaker game as he is about his professional career as he appears on-court the other night against the San Antonio Spurs in the Nike Air Yeezy 2 “Black/Solar Red“.

As he only lasted one quarter in the Nike Air Yeezy 2, that’s all it took for sneaker goers to notice the rare sighting. Did the Kanye West shoes stand up to the test? Have you played a competitive sport in your Yeezy 2′s? After all, they are basketball sneakers…

Nate Robinson, a Kicks on Court Champion contender, broke out his Solar Red Nike Air Yeezy IIs tonight in San Antonio during a nationally televised game. GourmetKickz brings us his second custom apart of six on the Nike LeBron 10 inspired by the Yeezy “Blink”.

The concept behind the Blink Yeezy Nike LeBron 10 was brought to the table by graphic artist Mas and was crafted by none other than GourmetKickz.

You can see the all over print of the “Y” that was featured on the Yeezy 1, which inverts on the inboard sides. The print also shifts colors in the sun.

Taking any inspired Yeezy custom you need to have some glow in the dark. On the Blink Yeezy Nike LeBron 10 the sole and Lion head illuminates.

Kanye West’s Signed Nike Air Yeezy 2 Sells for $98,900 USD to Benefit Hurricane Sandy Victims

As it was previously announced, Re/Create and a number of celebrities aimed to help with the devastation caused by Hurricane Sandy by auctioning off a number of personal items. Amongst the celebrities and items put up for auction were Julianne Moore’s special effects breast-plate from the forthcoming remake of Carrie, a vintage Miu Miu dress from Les Misérables star Anne Hathaway’s wardrobe, a Marc Jacobs Mini Stam Bag, signed Kate Moss book, a bottle of RC Reserve Syrah from Roman Coppola, and a signed pair of Kanye West‘s Air Yeezy II. It can now be confirmed that the winning bid for the aforementioned sneakers from the always-buzzed-about artist fetched a whopping ,900 USD via eBay. It seems that “watching the throne” isn’t nearly as enjoyable as owning a piece for some individuals.
