Bill Cunningham, the style and society photographer for the New York Times who can be snapping away around town and riding his bike in his signature blue jacket got his start in fashion as a milliner during the fifties and sixties.  Designing under the label William J, Cunningham created majestical, over-the-top creations before pioneering street style photography. 23 of his fabulous pieces were collected by his friend’s Aunt and are going up for sale on Wednesday at 1stdibs.com.  His hats, or any hat for that matter, are almost guaranteed to land you a coveted spot on one of Cunningham’s style pages for the paper.
